Kebbi state governor, Nasiru Idris has expressed optimism that APC will absolutely return victorious at the state LG polls stressing support for councils autonomy.
Similarly, he acknowledged the massive turnout of voters to exercise their franchise.
” Electorates know the significance of LG councils in the chain of development process especially at the grassroots. This informed their interests by turning out enmasse under peaceful , transparent and credible atmosphere provided by KESIEC ”
Governor Idris said shortly after casting his vote at the Nagari College polling unit 007, Makerar Gwandu ward in the state capital.
According to the former National President of NUT who was impressed by the conduct of voters , said APC has set a track record under his administration which will guarantee it victory at the polls.
” This is the first time organising polls under my administration and we have kept to our promise by providing level play ground for political parties to per take in the exercise and the electorates to vote candidates of their choice.
” This has enabled voters turnout enmasse”, he said.
The governor who also seized the space to comment further on the significance of LG administration to development said inspite of the challenges being faced by the third tier of government councils in the state were able to drive the execution of projects desirable to their respective communities.
Governor Idris described as a welcome development the autonomy granted to LGs by the Supreme Court verdict.
” I agree with the Court verdict. I am never opposed to it as a labour leader”, he stated
