Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has publicly responded after Afrobeats musician Davido labeled him a canine term on social media.

The online altercation began after Davido criticized the former presidential aide on Tuesday over his public claims that his official diplomatic deployment to Mexico was being delayed by the ongoing World Cup.
Sharing screenshots of the viral insult on his Instagram page, Omokri expressed shock at the feedback but stated that the musician’s hostility stems from a previous disagreement.
According to Omokri, the singer is retaliating because he criticized Davido for performing at the World Cup in a customized jacket bearing the names of abducted Oyo school children.
