SALLAH: Kano State Govt Distributes Face Masks To Contain The Spread Of COVID 19 During Eid-el Kabir Celebration.

In a bid to contain the spread of COVID 19 during Eid-el Kabir celebration, Kano state government has distributed face masks across five emirate councils of the state.

Presenting fifty thousand (50,000) pieces of the face masks to the emir of Gaya Dr Ibrahim Abdulqadir, the representative of governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, commissioner of Tourism And Culture, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Karaye said as a result of taking good measures by the state government, the spread of the virus is reducing drastically to the lowest level.

Kano state government has been providing protective materials to the populace against this world pandemic which makes the state ahead of all the 36 states of the federation in fighting the spread of the disease.

He said government has provided the face masks to the emirate councils for distribution to people through district heads in order to use it during Eid-el Kabir celebrations.

He added that fighting COVID 19 is a responsibility for all, and called on the people of Gaya emirate to ensure strict adherence to the protocols of COVID 19 at Eid ground by using the face masks and observing social distancing.

Before presenting the face masks to the emir, the representative of the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Karaye, Madakin Karaye extends a condolence message of the governor to the emir of Gaya, Dr Ibrahim Abdulqadir over the death of Wazirin Gaya Alhaji Abdu Mazagoma who died today Tuesday after a protracted illness.

On his part, the emir of Gaya Dr Ibrahim Abdulqadir represented by Makaman Gaya, district head of Albasu, Alhaji Bashir Albasu thanked governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the gesture which he described as a great achievement in term of improving health care delivery in the state.

He said about 18,000 people have recovered from COVID 19 in Kano state as a result of effort of the governor in the fight against the scourge since from the index case.

Makaman Gaya, Alhaji Bashir Albasu said the emirate will ensure successful distribution and use of the face masks during the sallah celebrations across the emirate to achieve the desired goals.

Also speaking the chairman of Gaya Local Government, Alhaji Ahmad T. Abdullahi through the vice chairman Alhaji Usman Muhammad assured of the local government’s commitment towards supporting the state government in the same direction.
