Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state yesterday presented a budget proposal of N188.5 billion for the 2022 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly with the Education sector attracting the highest share of N37.3bn
However, the Health sector is next in the sectoral allocation with N28.6bn , Agriculture has N 22.5bn while Infrastructure takes N18.2bn respectively.
Accordingly, capital expenditure has the highest percentage of allocation at 59% while recurrent expenditure 41% takes of the proposed total budget.
Making the presentation , Governor Tambuwal who tagged that budget as ” Budget of Accomplishment and Sustainable Development” said his government would dwell on complete all ongoing projects with direct positive impact on the people of the state.
The governor stated that all urban- rural roads projects would be prioritised for completion in addition to the completion of all flyovers including undertaking a new one proposed at Gidan Mai Ada.
He reiterated his government’s commitment towards making Sokoto state a better place for the benefit of people in the state .
