The Commissioner of Police , Sokoto state command, Ahmed Musa has said that the command will not neglect the role of the media for effective policing and intelligence gathering in combating crime.

Similarly he assured of operating an open door policy that would entertain inputs, informal interactive and social discussions with journalists towards keeping a smooth working relations .
Musa stated while receiving on courtesy call the new Executives of the NUJ Correspondents Chapel , Sokoto in his office.
He said the media remain a critical and great partners in policing the society.
” You help us to brace up efforts to effectively address some lapses encountered during operations”, he stressed.
According to Musa, a one time PPRO in the FCT, Abuja” You are of great importance as partners to our efforts at serving the country.
” We will not hesitate to drive a more robust synergy and sustain the working relationship inorder to make Sokoto state and Nigeria secured for citizens”, he assured.
He disclosed that the command has no fewer than 4,000 officers and men pointing out that ” we may not all be on the same page, anything you see going wrong , do not fail to call our attention through me or the command PPRO for possible and immediate action or correction accordingly”, said the Adamawa born police top notch.
Earlier, Chairman of the Chapel , Mr Ankeli Emmanuel told the Commissioner of Police that the chapel would continue to relate professionally with the command especially on its operations and ensuring effective dissemination of information on adherence to law and order for the peace, security and stability of the state and country as a whole.
” We are commending the command for the effective involvement of the media in its operational activities and breakthroughs”, he said on behalf of the 7 member executives.
