Reigning African champions Nigeria will return to the Military Stadium in Yaoundé this Tuesday for a second friendly match against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses.
The clash serves as a crucial redemption opportunity for the Super Falcons after suffering a 1-0 defeat to a last-minute goal in the first leg of the double-header on Saturday.
Arranged by both national federations, these matches are key preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which is set to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
Nigeria, entering the tournament as ten-time champions, is drawn in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi. Meanwhile, Cameroon will compete in Group D against Ghana, Mali, and Cape Verde.
Beyond continental glory, the stakes for the upcoming WAFCON are exceptionally high, as all four semi-finalists will secure automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Tuesday’s rematch offers Coach Justin Madugu a final chance to refine his squad’s tactics and finishing before they begin their title defense.
