The Christian Media Forum (CMF) has expressed profound joy over the decision of the Governor Uba Sani-led Kaduna State Government to restore the Christian pilgrimage programme after an eleven-year suspension.
This was contained in a statement signed by the forum’s National President, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson and National Secretary, Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia, made available on Tuesday.
The forum commended the government for taking practical steps towards restoring mutual trust and strengthening peaceful coexistence among residents of the state.
The forum described the development as a historic and encouraging step toward strengthening unity and religious harmony within the state.
It noted that the reinstatement of the pilgrimage reflects the commitment of Uba Sani to inclusive governance and equitable leadership.
It said that the governor’s decision demonstrates fairness and sensitivity to the religious diversity that characterizes the people of Kaduna State.
The forum observed that Kaduna State, under the present administration, is gradually regaining its past glory as a state known for tolerance, unity, and progressive leadership.
It emphasized that policies that promote fairness among religious and ethnic groups are essential to building a stable and prosperous society.
According to the statement, the restoration of the pilgrimage programme serves as a reassurance to the Christian community that their concerns are being acknowledged and addressed.
It further noted that the decision has rekindled confidence among Christian faithful, many of whom had long awaited the return of the programme.
The forum described the move as a deliberate effort by the government to reunite the people of Kaduna State and revive the spirit of togetherness that once defined the state.
