Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, is alive with excitement as it celebrates its vibrant Registry Week Activities, drawing staff, students, and faculty into a flurry of engaging events and camaraderie.

The three-day event, which commenced on November 26, has turned the university into a hub of spirited participation, emphasizing unity and interdepartmental cooperation. From lively road walks to competitive sports and intellectual sessions, the Registry Week has highlighted the significance of collaboration within the institution.
The festivities began with a colorful road walk across the university campus. Participants, clad in branded polo shirts, carried banners and distributed flyers, spreading the energy and awareness of the event. The walk set the stage for thrilling sporting activities, including a football match between the Registry and Bursary departments. In a closely contested game, the Registry team, with Registrar Yakubu Ayuba as their goalkeeper, secured a 2-1 victory. However, the Bursary department claimed a win in the volleyball match, showcasing the friendly rivalry between the teams.
“We’re in for a fantastic time of engagement, learning, and interaction,” enthused Ayuba, who expressed pride in the event’s success and the unity it fostered. His sentiments were echoed by university Bursar Lawrence Longsen, who emphasized the interconnectedness of departments within the university. “One department cannot work in isolation, and the Bursary showing solidarity with the Registry department aligns with the university’s core values,” Longsen stated.
The second day of the event on November 27 featured a review of the Registry department’s activities, where divisional and unit heads presented on their achievements and challenges. These presentations served as a reflection of the department’s role as the custodian of personnel and policy documents for the university.
The grand finale, taking place on November 28, is a workshop themed “Oiling the Wheels of Administration in PLASU: Strategizing for Effective Service Delivery.” This workshop will bring together seasoned scholars and administrators from various institutions. Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Shedrack Best is set to deliver the keynote address, focusing on repositioning Registry staff for efficiency and ethical practices in administration.
The Registry Week Activities have provided a platform for learning, interaction, and team spirit, reinforcing the university’s commitment to collaboration and excellence in service delivery. With such enthusiastic participation, the event has left an indelible mark on PLASU’s community.
