2023 Kaduna Senatorial Rerun: Sadaunan Badarawa Emerges PDP Candidate.

Honorable Usman Ibrahim, popularly known as Sardaunan Badarawa has emerged the winner of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rerun primary election held in kaduna on Monday 7th Nov 2022.

Usman Ibrahim 210 out of the 221 total vote cast beating his closest rival Lawal Adamu popularly known as Mr LA who got 5.

Announcing the result, chairman of the rerun primary election,  Mr Istifanus Caleb said Sardaunan Badarawa scored the highest number of vote cast thereby declaring him the winner and candidate of the PDP 2023 kaduna Central Senatorial zone. 

According to him, “out of the 223 accredited delegates expected to vote in the exercise 221 cast their votes, while 4 was invalid’. 

“Mr Lawal Adamu and Prof Usman Mohammed came second and third respectively during the exercise. 

He said that the election was peaceful, transparent and credible. 

Participating seven Local Government Areas includes,  kaduna North, kaduna South, Igabi, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, kajuru and Chikun. 

It will be recalled that, the casting of votes proper commenced following screening and accreditation of party’s delegates by officials from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters under the supervision of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the watchful eyes of various security agencies , including operatives of DSS, the Police, civil Defence and Civilian JTF .

The re-run primary as ordered by Kaduna High Court is between two top runners , Sardaunan Badarawa and Mr LA.

Though officially, there are other four names of contestants for the ticket of Zone ll Senator but it is believed to be a two-house race between the two aspirants , (Sardaunan Badarawa and Mr. LA).

250 delegates were expected to vote in today’s re-run but only 223 showed up to decide the 2023 PDP flag bearer for Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone .
