NYSC: serving corps electoral offenders will bag jail term.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says any serving corps member found partaking in any form of electoral malpractices in next year’s general elections will face the wrath of the law.

The Acting Director-General of the NYSC, Christy Uba, warned that the agency would prosecute according to the law any corps member found going against the rules of engagement.

She spoke during a working visit to the temporary Orientation Camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

She explained that the NYSC had over the years, in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, played a critical role in conducting elections in the country.
The acting Director-General added that as stipulated in the 2022 Electoral Act, no corps member would go free if found in any form of electoral offence.

She further explained that it was not compulsory to participate in the election. Vanguard
